DCI goes after a man who wiped out his family in Samburu
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has urged Kenyans to help in the arrest of a wanted person of interest.
Through a post on X on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, the DCI stated that the individual is being sought in connection with the tragic deaths of three family members in the Yare area of Samburu Central Sub-County.

According to the agency, the incident occurred on the night of September 27, 2025, when the man attacked his wife and two children before fleeing the scene.
DCI reports indicate that the man had returned home that night to their rented house along the Maralal–Nyahururu road, where the family lived.
It is alleged that a domestic altercation turned violent, leading to the death of his spouse and two young daughters.

The agency described the incident as “brutal” and “deeply disturbing,” noting that officers have been on his trail since the attack.
Detectives have been conducting a multi-agency manhunt across several counties as part of ongoing efforts to locate the person of interest.
DCI officials confirmed that the individual has been evading capture for over a week despite extensive intelligence operations.
According to preliminary findings, the man disappeared shortly after the incident and is believed to have sought refuge in remote areas.

The DCI said that while significant progress has been made in the investigation, no arrests have been made so far.

“Despite ongoing efforts to track and arrest the suspect, detectives have been unsuccessful thus far,” read part of the DCI statement. “We appeal to members of the public to share any information that could assist in his capture.”
Authorities have requested anyone with credible information to report to the nearest police station or reach out anonymously through the #FichuaKwaDCI hotline.

The agency has assured the public that all shared information will be treated with the highest confidentiality.
Investigators have also reiterated their commitment to ensuring justice for the victims as the nationwide search continues.
