Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Monday, June 17, 2024, recovered five suspected stolen motor vehicles at a homestead in Kamulu Nairobi County.

According to the police report,  the prime suspect, Salesio Njagi Kiura was arrested in the early morning joint operation.

The police who were acting on intelligence, raided the suspect’s residence and recovered the suspected stolen vehicles.

Police said the vehicles were in the process of being dismantled, adding that four other vehicles were found during the operation.

According to authorities, the colour of one of the vehicles found during the raid had been changed to white from its original blue.

“Detectives from Nairobi Regional Hqs, DCI Buruburu and KPS officers from Kamulu Police Station proceeded to Kamulu along Josna Road at Kiura’s (suspect) residence, where the reported stolen car was found while in the process of being dismantled. Inside the same gated home were found four, “DCI statement reads.
“Other vehicles, including a blue Mazda Demio Reg.No KCW 831N, a Toyota Ractis (silver) KDB 216T, a Suzuki Mira (silver) KDB 308P and a white Toyota Passo Reg.No. KCW 346L (colour changed from its original blue)”.
The DCI further stated that the trailing of the suspect followed after a report was made at the DCI Buruburu station on June 10, 2024, regarding the theft of a car Reg. No. KDJ 366C Toyota Ractis that was stolen at Umoja Inner Core Nairobi County.

The DCI says the matter has been recorded and documented by the Crime Scene Investigation(CSI) detectives at Buruburu and that all five vehicles were towed to Buruburu Police Station alongside the suspect.
