Dandora chang’aa dens

This comes barely a week after police in Nairobi seized and destroyed more than 5,000 litres of illicit brew in a major crackdown on chang’aa dens in Dandora.

In a statement on Saturday, August 30, 2025, the NPS revealed that the raid targeted a notorious chang’aa den in the area.

“During the operation, police seized and destroyed more than 5,000 litres of kangara on site. Additionally, six copper manufacturing coils and three electric boilers were recovered and retained as evidence,” read the statement.

Furthermore, the NPS revealed that the owner of the den managed to escape during the operation and is currently on the run.
