Paul Mwangi Wambui aka Jiji, who is the latest victim of abductions, has been found.

Activist Boniface Mwangi on Monday, July 1, 2024, revealed that Paul had been found dumped in Roysambu.

According to the photos shared by Boniface Mwangi, the victim has a deep cut wound on the head, a clear indication that his abductors injured him.

“Paul Mwangi Wambui aka Jiji has been found dumped in Roysambu. His abductors also injured him,” the activist said in a statement shared via his official X account on Monday, July 1, 2024.

LSK on Paul’s abduction

The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Faith Odhiambo had Monday morning raised concerns about the abduction of Paul.

Odhiambo said Paul had been abducted on Monday, July 1, 2024, at 5 am in Githurai, Nairobi, and his whereabouts were unknown.

She demanded the immediate release of Paul and an end to the abductions that have been happening in the country since the onset of the Finance Bill 2024 and anti-government protests.

“Paul Mwangi Wambui aka Jiji was abducted this morning at 5 am at Githurai. This must come to an end! Release Paul immediately!” the LSK president stated.

Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition has also called for an end to the abductions and demanded the release of many other Kenyans who are still missing.

Sifuna on abductions

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna who had accompanied former Nandi Hills Member of Parliament Alfred Keter to Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters on Monday, July 1, 2024, said that they had raised abduction concerns to DCI.

Sifuna said the DCI had denied any involvement in the abductions of the missing Kenyans.

He regretted the incident that happened to Keter, noting that he would never wish it on anyone.

He further condemned President William Ruto for what he termed as maintaining the hit squad that consists of men who are even unknown to the police.

“We have made two requests as the leadership of Azimio led by Kalonzo Musyoka. We are aware that there are many Kenyans still missing. We have asked the DCI and they are claiming that it isn’t them who took these people. Ruto is still maintaining police hit squads and they are the ones conducting the abductions. We will not be treated like criminals,” Sifuna said.

Keter’s abduction

Keter was on Sunday, June 30, 2024, forcibly abducted by heavily armed men in plainclothes outside Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kileleshwa as he was leaving the church.

He was taken to Kamkunji police station where he was grilled before being released.
