Director Trevor has extended his warm congratulations to YouTuber Eve Mungai on the launch of her new YouTube channel.
Taking to his Insta Stories, Trevor penned a heartfelt message on behalf of Kenya Online Media (KOM) to Mungai.
“From Kenya Online Media (KOM) we wish Mungai Eve all the best in her new journey,” Trevor wrote.
New era for Eve
Earlier Mungai Eve shared the news of her fresh start with a new Facebook and YouTube channel dubbed ‘Mungai Eve Media’ steering with steering with the motto ‘Empowering lives, one story at a time.’
“The beginning of a new era! Link on bio to my channel,” she wrote.
Trevor fires Eve Mungai
On Monday, February 19, Trevor came out guns blazing saying he had fired Eve Mungai and taken full control of their shared social media accounts.
He also said Eve would not be getting her usual cut from the income generated by their once co-shared channels.
He unveiled the channel’s new identity, rebranding to ‘Kenya Online Media (KOM)’, effective Tuesday, February 20.
Trevor’s announcement came alongside a cryptic message seemingly directed at his former partner.
“Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago,” he wrote.
He went further to hold a Q&A session to address fans’ curiosity about collaboration with Mungai.
When asked if he would continue working with Mungai, Trevor made it clear that her involvement in their joint platforms was terminated.
“No! Her services are no longer needed in the following platforms: YouTube – 754K subscribers, Insta Fame – 104K subscribers, Facebook – 874K followers,” he responded.
Trevor not delivering on his promise?
Following the confirmation of their breakup, an old video featuring the former couple has resurfaced, adding fuel to the fire.
In the newly uncovered video, the couple was interviewed by Presenter Ali, who inquired about the future of their YouTube channel in the event of a breakup.
Trevor explained that although he initially created the channel, he believed it rightfully belonged to Eve.
He expressed his willingness to let her keep it, emphasizing that her name and brand were attached to it.
Trevor confidently asserted that he could start a new channel and attract a similar audience.
He admitted to knowing only the password, lacking knowledge of other channel details.
Ksh800K salary
Following her recent firing, and losing the accounts to Trevor, Mungai will be parting ways with her monthly pay of Ksh800,000.
Director Trevor opened up about his YouTube earnings during a Q&A session with his fans on Instagram in September 2023.
At the time, he disclosed that he and Eve Mungai each earned a Ksh800,000 monthly salary from their YouTube channel.
“Is it true Eve Mungai earns more than you?” A fan asked Trevor.
“As employees of Mungai Eve Media, my wife and I both receive a monthly salary of 800k. Each! Money that is generated through YouTube instream ads and Facebook. Even if angekua anaearn more than me to me it’s not an issue for us. We believe in equal opportunities and value eac value each other’s contributions to our family and the company. Our focus is together on working as a team, supporting and empowering each other to achieve our goals. We believe that financial success should not be limited by gender, and we embrace the equal earning potential that exists in our relationship,” he replied.
