The most sought-after female artiste in Kenya right now is arguably Bongo singer Jovial whose breakout hit ‘Such Kinda Love’ with Otile Brown became one of the greatest hits in 2021.

While most loved the song as it came as a surprise, Jovial earned a major boost and seemingly attracted attention to herself which got artistes salivating to work with her.

She ended up recording a couple of collabos with other artistes hoping to drum up listener attention to their new music by tapping on her royal audience and undeniable star power.

From Bahati, to Marioo and now Mr Seed, these were some of the lucky singers to get a collaboration with her since she has announced that she will not be doing any more music features and collaborations as she now wants to focus on her solo career.

Taking to Instagram, she wrote:

“No more collabos featuring me. Zitakazotoka ni za mwaka jana na nilizoshirikisha wasanii. Nashukuru we’ve learnt a lot from each other. If you’ve not got a chance to work with me you never know though staki kuongea nikamaliza. Ila kwa sasa mnisamehe.Requests ni nyingi lakini samahani sio kwa sasa. We move.”

Loosely translated as; ‘(I will not be doing any more collabos for now. The few that are being released were recorded a while ago. I’m grateful to have worked together with other artistes and although I don’t want to speak conclusively, I would now wish to just focus on myself. I’m sorry about that. We move!)”
