Gengetone singer-cum-Mugithi artist Shalkido ga cucu has passed a sweet message to whom he termed as his big sister media personality, Mwalimu Racheal.

Speaking in a youtube interview with Ala C, Shalkido gave a special shoutout to Mwalimu Racheal attributing his music career growth to her.

“I love you like my big sis. You taught me a lot. God bless you. You identified my talent and I owe you my growth. You taught me to be humble, to live with people and to live independently,” he stated.

The 20-year-old recounted his tough upbringing revealing he was raised by his grandmother after his mum abandoned him in a latrine at two months.

In his adolescence, he resorted to stealing and robbery before discovering his singing talent.

It was then when he ran into his bandmates and formed the famous Sailors gang with four others.

Shalkido noted that he would like to bring a new vibe to Mugithi and has since hit the stage with veterans like Mike Rua and Samidoh.

“I want to change Mugithi to be something different. In terms of beats, instruments and even video qualities,” he noted.
