Gospel producer Patrick Mbaru, widely known as Saint P, has penned an emotional message to gospel singer Kambua, offering words of comfort and solidarity as she continues to face intense online backlash over her recent trip to Israel.

Taking to his official Instagram account, Saint P encouraged Kambua by telling her that not everyone will understand her choices or her journey, but he personally celebrates her and sees God’s grace in her life.

He reminded her that life can have opposite experiences yet still be meaningful.

The award-winning gospel producer ended the message on a light, playful note, asking her to bring him water from Galilee.

“Dear Siz. @kambuamuziki Alot of people won’t understand the significance or the essence of self-being. And it is easy to see the rain and pray for the sun, or embrace strength or wish for none, but in all things and experiences of the world, always know, I celebrate you, and I thank God for the grace he has shown through you. God’s story that he is writing through every mile, “Saint P wrote.

“Sometimes life is or can be two opposites of the same side. Bora uniletee maji ya Galilay.”

Kambua is among the influencers who were fully sponsored for the Israel trip and is now facing harsh criticism from Kenyans online.

Backlash

For the better part of the week, netizens took to social media to question a recent fully funded trip to Israel by a group of local influencers and gospel artistes. The trip, which covered flights, accommodation, and meals, required the creators to document and share their experiences.

Kenyans criticised the celebrities for accepting a fully sponsored trip during such a sensitive period, arguing that the posts made it appear as though they were helping a powerful state improve its global image.

While the trip allowed the celebrities to explore historical and spiritual sites, Kenyans online have argued that sharing sponsored, joyful content during an ongoing conflict appeared tone-deaf.

Some of the influencers facing backlash include Kambua, Kestin Mbogo, Caleb Karuga, Mwende Macharia, Gadwilliam Kiragu, Mimo Karanja, Sim Simmer, and Evelyne Wanjiru.

The visit came amid the ongoing Israel–Gaza conflict, a period marked by widely shared images of suffering and destruction.
