Pastor Kanyari says Mosiria’s demotion came after disrespecting his anointing

By , December 1, 2025

Salvation Healing Ministries founder, Pastor Victor Kanyari, has claimed that former Nairobi Environment Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria was demoted from the influential docket because he failed to respect him as an anointed man of God.

Speaking during a service at his church on Sunday, November 30, 2025, Kanyari hurled shade at Mosiria and recalled how the county official had harassed him for roasting meat in the church.

The preacher said he was certain it was God who fought for him, asserting that his anointing is so strong that it exacted vengeance even before he could react to the ordeal.

“Even that Nairobi Environment Chief Officer, Mosiria, was reassigned. I did not curse him, but never disrespect a man of God or his servants. I have also seen people on social media saying that Kanyari and Mosiria had a falling out and that Mosiria was removed from his docket because of me,” Kanyari said.

At the same time, the self-styled prophet said he had seen people circulating the story on social media, linking Mosiria’s misfortune to him, but he insisted that he should not be blamed for the punishment, as it was God who meted it out.

“The Bible says never point a finger at a man of God, and Mosiria played with Pastor Kanyari, and he was reassigned to a position where he is barely visible. Haha. The oil of my anointing fought for me even before I spoke,” the preacher added.

Kanyari also described performing a symbolic ritual with two eggs, which he said represented spiritual justice.

He said he went to a road, cracked the eggs, and invoked Mosiria’s name as part of a ritual intended to bring punishment for his actions.

“I went to the street, performed a ritual breaking two eggs, and I said one egg is for Mosiria. When I broke the eggs, I said, Mosiria, go down,” he said.

Mosiria’s demotion

Geoffrey Mosiria, who had served as Nairobi County’s Chief Officer for Environment, had been widely recognised for his enforcement initiatives, including cracking down on illegal dumping, shutting down unauthorised waste sites, revoking licenses of non-compliant service providers, and advocating for sustainable waste management practices.

He also took a strong stance on curbing public nuisance, such as urinating in undesignated areas, noise pollution from matatus, and hawkers operating in residential areas.

Despite his achievements, Mosiria was officially moved from the Environment docket to head the Citizen Engagement and Customer Service department as part of a major reshuffle by Governor Johnson Sakaja.

The notice, released on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, confirmed that the changes were immediate. Chief Officer Hibrahim Otieno, previously in charge of Medical Facilities, was appointed to lead the Environment docket.
