Kenyan artiste Otile Brown has expressed his desire to honour TikTok sensation Brian Chira at his burial ceremony by performing.

This follows netizens’ request to Otile Brown noting that Chira loved Otile’s hit song ‘One Call’.

In his Instagram stories, the artiste expressed his willingness to perform at Chira’s burial ceremony, aiming to create a memorable tribute to the late content creator.

“Would love to perform the song at the burial and help make it memorable for him if that is possible.. If possible, to the people attending please learn the lyrics so we sing and celebrate him,” he wrote.

Otile Brown also acknowledged Chira’s influence on the popularity of ‘One Call’ following his passing.

“What Chira is doing to #OneCall is just crazy. His light is bright and love felt. Sending love and prayers. Rest well, King.”

Brian Chira’s burial

Brian Chira will be laid to rest on March 26, 2024.

In an announcement to the TikTok community on Wednesday, March 20, Baba Talisha, a close friend of the late Brian Chira, shared details of the content creator’s final sendoff.

He revealed that the burial ceremony would take place in Githunguri, Kiambu County where Chira’s grandmother resides and later be buried in the grandmother’s ancestral home.

“The burial date will be March 26, and the funeral [will be held] in Githunguri where his grandmother has been staying,” Baba Talisha revealed.

Furthermore, Baba Talisha invited those who wished to pay their respects to Chira in person.

He urged individuals to gather at Kenyatta Funeral Home, noting that there would be no opportunity for body viewing after Chira’s body left the morgue.

He also shared that the grandmother requested for Chira to be buried in graduation attire.

“Shosho alisema Chira atazikwa na gown, graduation gown. Chira was very bright in school,” he disclosed.

Chira’s death

Police confirmed the death of the TikToker, stating that he succumbed to severe head injuries sustained in the hit-and-run incident.

Before the accident, reports suggest that the deceased had visited a bar in the Gacharae area where he was later ejected following a disturbance.

On his way home by motorcycle, he was struck by a speeding lorry while crossing the road near his destination. The lorry fled the scene after the collision.

Law enforcement arrived promptly and moved his body to the City Mortuary where grieving fans and family members gathered for a final viewing.

Support poured in from various quarters on social media, offering condolences to the bereaved family.

Fellow TikToker Nyako expressed her sorrow, reflecting on her significant role in the deceased’s life and urging followers to reflect on their own journeys and final moments.

He had recently taken a hiatus from social media, prompting concerns about his well-being.

In a previous statement, he reassured fans that he was simply taking time off to focus on self-improvement after a rough period.

“I just took a break from a year of chaos. I’m fine. Hang in there. It’s not every day that’s a trending day. I had to work on myself and I feel better now,” he had said in a post on Instagram.
