Kenyan comedian-turned-activist Eric Omondi has launched a campaign to reconstruct a perilous bridge over River Waseges in Baringo County.

In a video shared on his Instagram page on Monday, August 5, 2024, Omondi documented the dire s******f the bridge, which currently consists of just three logs of wood.

The footage shows schoolchildren navigating the unstable crossing, while an elderly w***n braves the treacherous waters below.

Omondi said the bridge serves as a link for numerous communities, facilitating access to schools, markets, and places of worship.

“This is River Waseges in Baringo County. It is a d****y d***h trap. It connects several Villages, Schools, Markets and Churches. This Community is helpless but we are going to step in and save lives. We are going to build this bridge,” Omondi wrote.

The activist first highlighted the dangerous condition of a bridge by posting several photos showing women crawling across it to reach the other side.

He requested specific information about the bridge’s location.

“Hey guys can someone from Baringo please confirm the location of this bridge? I am told it’s in Waseges River, Mochongoi Ward, Baringo South Constituency. Someone, please confirm🙏. The Government is only Concerned about its p****e and not the p****e,” Omondi stated.

Omondi builds bridge in Kisii

In February 2024, Omondi helped build a dangerous bridge in a village in Kisii County that gained attention after a video surfaced showing a small girl, Shirleen Kemunto bravely crossing over it.

Taking to Instagram to share the exciting news with his fans, the comedian posted a video showcasing himself and the young girl walking over the newly upgraded bridge.

“Kemunto bridge is complete. This young girl has changed a whole community. She is a hero. This bridge is not only historical but also extremely symbolic. It symbolizes a p****e’s resolve, it symbolizes the power in unity!”

“We are bridging the gaps. The gaps between the poor and the wealthy must and can be minimized and diminished. We are bridging the gaps created by political and tribal divisions. Team sisi kwa sisi nothing is impossible!!! Together everything is achievable!!!”
