Oga Obinna announces new policy after Amber Ray’s exchange
Media personality Steve Tomphson Maghana, popularly known as Oga Obinna, has vowed never to respond to interview questions about other people’s lives.
Speaking on June 9, 2025, during a surprise party held in his honour by YouTubers, Obinna declared that he will be holding his tongue when questions about other people are brought up.
“From today onwards, whenever I am doing any interview and I am asked a question that does not concern me, I shall remain silent,” Obinna said.
The media personality also added that he will only comment on other people’s matters when he is absolutely certain about the issue.
He further revealed that his team has also cautioned him against rushing to make comments about other people’s affairs and lives when he is invited or hosted for an interview.
“When I speak, I must be very sure. I have been advised by Omosh and the team, that when I am asked, ‘Obinna, what do you think of…?’ I shall think nothing and keep quiet,” he added.
Obinna also touched on how the Amber Ray feud had escalated and jocularly warned the YouTuber who had lobbed the Amber Ray question at him during the red carpet segment of his show on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
“But when it comes to the lady, leave her alone. You see, matters involving a lady have stirred trouble. By the way, who was it that asked that question the other day? It was you. You have seen the case, and you have implicated me,” he added.
Amber Ray feud
Obinna’s firm vow arrives mere hours after a blazing war of words erupted between him and Amber Ray over allegations of betrayal following their video shoot collaboration agreement.
The declaration also surfaces shortly after he confided that he wishes to draw the curtain on the bitter feud with the reality TV star for a multitude of personal reasons.
Speaking in a video shared on his Instagram page on Monday, June 9, 2025, just hours after Amber Ray clapped back at him with screenshots of messages he had sent her in 2022, Obinna explained that he can see that the situation is on the verge of exploding, and he has no interest in allowing it to spiral further.
“Oga in the building—so this is probably going to be the last thing I say about this Obinna and Amber Ray matter, because I have seen where this is going, and this is what happens every time there is a misunderstanding between a man and a woman—people immediately assume the man is at fault,” he said.
Obinna, who appeared to be filming from the front seat of his car, then took time to revisit how the beef, which has since become the talk of town, began, saying that it was sparked after his “My Mistakes” show held on the evening of Saturday, June 7, 2025.
He recalled that during the event, he had been cornered by a YouTuber who pressed him to explain why he no longer seemed as close to Amber Ray as they had appeared in the past.
According to him, that was the moment he decided to clear the air, but his remarks quickly triggered a fiery response from Amber Ray, who issued a counter-statement.
“How it started is, I got an interview on my red carpet show and was asked what had happened, so I mentioned something, and then she responded and accused me of being disrespectful,” he explained.
What followed was a whirlwind of online clapbacks, with both parties claiming they had receipts to prove that the other was pushing a twisted narrative.
The online drama escalated rapidly, with Obinna releasing a flurry of video responses while Amber Ray took to her Instagram stories with a series of bold posts.
