Mwalimu Rachel to critics: Leave women alone to handle their bodies
By Paulette Mboga, October 1, 2025Media personality Mwalimu Rachel has strongly defended women’s right to make their own choices about their bodies.
She made the remarks while addressing the ongoing debate around childbirth, body image, and health, which has sparked conversations on whether women should opt for natural delivery or caesarean section.
Mwalimu Rachel said that those who have never experienced menstrual pain or the physical demands of pregnancy should not try to dictate what women should do with their bodies.
“Kama wewe hujawai shikwa na mambo za menstrual period, then wachana na wanawake wafanye kile wanataka na mili zao,” she said on her radio show on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
She went on to add that she does not blame any woman for choosing what works best for her when it comes to childbirth.
“Why do you think I don’t want to have another child? I don’t want another child. I am putting all the necessary measures to make sure it doesn’t,” she explained, noting that the decision is personal and should not be controlled by outsiders.
Choice should be left to women
According to Mwalimu Rachel, the strength or health of a child should not be judged based on the method of delivery.
She pointed out that other factors, such as proper nutrition and breastfeeding, play a bigger role in a child’s growth and well-being.
“You cannot look at the mode of delivery as to whether your child will be immune or strong. There are many other things to consider. There is nutrition, and there is also breastfeeding,” she said.

Her remarks come at a time when discussions about caesarean sections versus natural births have intensified this week, with different opinions being shared about health risks, recovery time, and societal perceptions.
Mwalimu Rachel stressed that the final decision must remain with the mother.
She said that women know their bodies better than anyone else and should not be shamed or pressured into making choices that are uncomfortable for them.
Mwalimu Rachel says that women should be trusted to make their own decisions about childbirth and overall health.
By calling out critics, she reinforced the importance of respecting women’s autonomy and the choices they make for their own lives and families.
