Marioo promises to gift Ksh100K to 10 fans after warm Mombasa reception

Tanzanian artiste Marioo has expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Kenyan fans for the overwhelming support they have shown him, particularly in response to his latest video release, and has now pledged to gift ten lucky supporters Ksh100,000 as a token of gratitude.
Taking to his Instagram page on Saturday, July 12, 2025, the celebrated Bongo star posted a warm message thanking Kenyans for their unmatched energy and love.
He noted that the reception he received was not only humbling but also inspiring, and he felt compelled to give back to the very fans who continue to elevate his music career across borders.
“Thank you, Kenya. I am so happy with the reception for the video, and now I would like to give a gift to ten of my fans. If your comment is not liked, I will send you one hundred thousand shillings,” he posted, adding heart and prayer emojis alongside the Kenyan flag.

Marioo, who has been riding high on multiple East African collaborations, further revealed that he would be going live on Instagram later in the day, where he would randomly interact with fans and possibly identify the ten lucky winners to receive the promised cash rewards.
The announcement immediately triggered excitement among his followers, with many flocking to his comment section hoping to be among the selected few. Fans across Kenya responded with admiration, praising Marioo for remaining grounded and generous despite his fast-growing fame.
This gesture comes as the Bongo sensation continues to solidify his presence in the Kenyan music scene, where he has built a loyal fan base over the past few years.
Among his latest collaborations is the chart-topping hit ‘Nairobi’, a powerful duet with Kenyan star Bien.
The song saw Marioo visit Nairobi, where he linked up with Bien for the music video shoot and toured areas such as Kilimani, which he nostalgically references in the lyrics as the place where he met the love of his life.

Bien on Marioo
Following the release of their song ‘Nairobi’, Bien, days later, came out to lavish praise on the Tanzanian Bongo Flava sensation, calling him incredibly gifted.
Bien, who was speaking to YouTubers shortly after being honoured at the Trace Awards on the night of Thursday, January 30, 2025, stated that Marioo is one of the rare artistes from the Swahili-speaking nation whom he truly rates and believes is on a global scale.
During the interview, Bien gushed over the singer’s extraordinary talent and craftsmanship, reminiscing about a recent collaboration they worked on together.
He recounted that after recording the track, they listened to it about 50 times, mesmerised by the kind of masterpiece they had created.
“My favourite collabo is ‘Nairobi’. Napenda hiyo song. Hiyo ngoma naipenda. Kutoka siku ya kwanza, tumerekodi hiyo song ‘Nairobi’; tulirekodi hiyo tukakaa tukiisikiza hapo studio like 50 times. Tukajua tumerekodi tu banger maze. And thank you so much, Marioo maze,” he said.
Changing Bien’s life
Bien, who during the interview flaunted a Ksh128,000 designer shoe, then hailed Marioo, revealing that working alongside him and forming a bond had profoundly impacted his life.

He explained that this was particularly significant, as both of them are solo artists, and given Marioo’s chart-topping success, he had drawn invaluable insights from him.
The ‘Mbwembwe’ hitmaker noted that Marioo has his affairs in order, and everything he pursues revolves around securing the bag with unwavering determination.
“Na kuwork na Marioo imechange maisha yangu sana maze. Marioo is all about his paper. Marioo is focused, ako na high turnover ya content, music, ninini. Yaani, kukaa na Marioo imenifundisha a lot about being a solo artiste,” he added.
