Mammito urges Kenyans to celebrate her newborn baby with cash and not just words

Comedienne Eunice Wanjiru, popularly known as Mammito, has urged Kenyans congratulating her on the birth of her first child to express their joy not just with words but with money.
Taking to her Instagram account on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, the comedienne shared a paybill number, inviting all well-wishers who were happy for her to send financial gifts.
According to her, this would be a more meaningful way to make her feel celebrated, though she also added laughter emojis at the end of her post, suggesting that people should not go overboard in reading meanings to her request.
“Congratulations, zikuje na M-Pesa. Till 5972465,” she shared.
New baby
The comedienne’s request for money came just hours after she announced the arrival of her baby by sharing a photo of herself holding the little one while seated in a hospital bed.
This heartwarming moment followed a playful post the previous day, where she cheekily asked her fans what to do when her water breaks, keeping them eagerly anticipating the big news.
In her birth announcement, she did not reveal any further details, leaving many fans wondering whether she had given birth that same day as they flooded her with congratulatory messages.
Pregnancy journey
The former Churchill Show stand-up comedian has been open about her pregnancy journey, delighting her fans with her comedic timing and relatable content.
On October 29, 2024, she left her followers in both shock and stitches after unveiling a baby bump just hours after publicly claiming to have maintained celibacy for an entire year.
Taking to her Instagram page, Mammito showed off a small but noticeable baby bump while sharing an ad campaign.
She captioned the video, “Muurima uliguzwa“—loosely translated to “The mountain was touched.”
In December 2024, Mammito opened up about her pregnancy, sharing that it was planned.
However, she opted not to reveal any details about the father of her child, only mentioning in an interview with Betty Kyallo that they share a strong, private relationship.
“He’s not in the entertainment industry, and that’s something I truly appreciate,” she said, highlighting her wish to keep their relationship out of the public eye.

The queen of comedy has kept her romantic life private after her relationship with Eddie Butita ended in 2021.
In 2022, in an interview with Kameme TV, Mammito clarified her status, noting that she was single and ready to see other people.
“I do not have a man in my life. I am single, and any single man who is interested can hit my DM,” she shared.
When asked about her past with Butita, she did not elaborate.
Notably, Butita himself remained silent on their breakup. On his birthday, Mammito did not acknowledge him, although Butita remarked he hadn’t noticed any issue and thought she may have simply forgotten.
Later that year, in a Milele FM interview, she playfully commented on her relationship status, noting that she would never be single.
“Mimi nakaa kukaa single hata siku moja? Nikaiwachwa tu hivi watu wako kwa line,” she joked.
Mammito mentioned being in a new relationship with someone who was not in the public eye, choosing to keep details under wraps.
