KRG The Don reveals why he believes unseating Sifuna will be easy
By Valerian Khakayi, December 4, 2025Musician and entrepreneur Karagu Kimani, widely known as KRG The Don, has confidently stated that unseating the current Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna in 2027 will not be as difficult for him as many people think.
Speaking during an interview with media personality Alex Mwakideu, KRG stated that he is ready to face Sifuna on the ballot, adding that politicians should stop behaving as though they appoint themselves, insisting that every leader must ultimately return to the people for votes.
Hamna tatizo, hiyo ndio ile kitu mimi nashanga na watu. Wananiambia. Hakuna mwanasiasa ananjichagua; awe ni Sifuna au nani, wote wanarudi kuomba kura kwa mwananchi,” KRG said.
KRG went on to say that politics has changed significantly compared to the past, and leaders can no longer rely on party popularity to secure a win.
“Unajua siasa ya sahii iko na mambo mingi, unajua ile wakati mwengine waliingia ilikuwa rahisi rahisi kwa sababu walikuwa wananing’inia kwa koti,” he added referring to an awakened, informed generation of voters.

He emphasised that the current political climate demands tangible results, not empty promises. KRG challenged officeholders to show real achievements if they expect support from Nairobi residents.
“Siasa ya sahi si kama ile ya zamani ya uonga, sahi kuja utuonyeshe ile kitu umefanya, If you are a senator, show us how much money umetetea county ya Nairobi ikapata, wananchi wakanufaika hiyo ndio kitu tutakupimas nayo,” he stated.
According to him, some leaders forget that their power comes from the same electorate they later look down on. He noted that after five years in office, every politician must face the same public they promised to serve.
“Miaka mitano ikiisha anarudi kwa wananchi. Sasa akuwe tayari kukutana na bugha kwa ground. Kama tu kuka kwa chama yao na amani imewashinda,” he added, suggesting that voters are now more alert and demanding.

His Agenda
KRG also outlined his priorities should he be elected to the Senate. His main focus, he said, will be ensuring that essential services reach Nairobi residents as quickly and efficiently as possible.
“My biggest agenda ni services zikuwe delivered kwa mwananchi haraka iwezekanavyo. That is my first agenda, second agenda, oversight of the county government,” he noted.
With his bold claims and rising political ambition, KRG The Don has already positioned himself as one of the most talked-about aspirants vying for Nairobi’s Senate seat. Whether his confidence will translate into real votes remains to be seen, but one thing is clear, he is ready to take on Sifuna head-on.
