Kenyan TikToker and cross-dresser Kelvin Kinuthia has opened up on giving up on his weight loss journey after he underwent a gastric balloon surgery last year.
Speaking to YouTuber Eve Mungai, the TikTok sensation revealed that he got tired of keeping up with meal plans and the fact that he had to hit the gym which according to him was an uphill task considering his eating habits.
Kinuthia explained that he lacked the discipline required for the procedure to take full effect and hence gave up on the whole weight loss journey.
“Mimi ni kuchoka nilichoka, coz iyo kitu inahitaji mtu afuatilie on the diet, na mimi ikifika ati discipline kwa chakula, iyo nayo ni uwongo,” Kinuthia revealed.
Probed whether the highly sought-after procedure had effects, Kinuthia noted that one experiences the side effects during the onset of the procedure and towards the end of the surgery.
“Side effects ni ya time ya kwanza and maybe ukimalizia, hapa katikati hakuna, mimi ni kuchoka nilichoka, mara uambiwe ukule ii and then uambiwe ukimbie gym, eei, si mtaniua jamani, sijakula vizuri na mnaniambia nikiimbie gym,” he jested.
Kinuthia revealed that he had to quit on the procedure noting that he was always comfortable with his weight and he wouldn’t undergo the procedure if given a chance.
The content creator also stated that if he wanted to resume his weight loss journey, he would go to the gym.
The procedure has been embraced by many bigwigs in the entertainment industry like Kenyan actress Catherine Kamau alias Kate Actress, Willis Raburu and Jackie Matubia.
The procedure involves placing a saline-filled silicone balloon in your stomach.
It is said to help individuals lose weight by limiting how much one can eat and making one full faster.
