Kenyan actress Jackie Matubia has cleared the air on claims that she received a car and a house from another woman’s ex-husband, insisting she does not own either property.

The actress addressed the claims in an Instagram response on Sunday, August 24, 2025, directly challenging the woman who accused her of causing her divorce.

The accuser, speaking anonymously via Edgar Obare’s Instagram Stories, claimed that Matubia’s involvement while acting on a popular TV show led to her marriage breakdown.

She also claimed that Matubia had received a car and a house from her former husband, implying that the actress benefited materially from the situation.

Matubia demands proof

Responding to the accusations, Matubia expressed shock and disbelief. “Surely, a friend of mine sent me that story, and I am like, ‘ama ni mimi sijui nilinunuliwa nyumba na gari.’ I can hustle for all these things, knowing I do not have a house or a car?” she said, emphasising that she is working toward her own goals.

She further challenged the accuser to provide evidence supporting her claims. “Let’s put this to rest. Either come up with proof or let’s stop spreading stories,” Matubia stated, highlighting the need for accountability in online accusations.

The actress also called on anyone who purchased assets in her name to reach out to her directly, as she had no knowledge of such transactions.

“If you know you bought me a car and a house, and it’s under my name, please show me so I can stop suffering. It’s Sunday, and I’m still dealing with this,” she added.

Matubia’s response comes amid growing online discussions where celebrities are frequently drawn into personal disputes, often amplified by social media.

Her insistence on proof and clarification that she does not own any such property aims to put an end to the controversy and protect her public image.
