Guardian Angel shares the secret behind Rose Muhando’s flawless one-take recordings

Speaking after the release of their new hit, Kimya, which is currently dominating the YouTube charts in Kenya, on Friday, September 5, 2025, Guardian said working with Muhando is always smooth because she approaches collaborations with unmatched creativity.
“Working with Rose is always very easy because she is always ready to be fully part of the project, even when it is a collaboration,” he said.
He noted that, unlike many artistes who rely on pre-written lyrics, Muhando steps into the studio with nothing scripted, listens to the track, and instantly crafts her verses from memory.
According to him, this effortless style sets her apart in the gospel music industry.
“When you want to work with her, all you need to prepare is your chorus and your parts. She does not come with written lyrics, and no one writes for her. Once she listens to your part, she immediately creates her own from her head,” he added.
He explained that Muhando does not need a pen or paper, and yet she is able to create compelling lyrics on the spot, record them in one attempt, and never forget the lines she has composed in her head.
Guardian described this approach as both fascinating and inspiring, saying that it makes her an exceptional partner in music creation.
“I think it is because she has been doing this for so long, but honestly, I do not understand how she does it. Rose never writes verses. She listens, freestyles, and when she gets to the microphone, she delivers everything straight from her mind,” he added.
The artiste further revealed that Kimya is the second song he has worked on with Muhando, and each collaboration has reinforced his admiration for her talent.
He emphasised that her freestyle ability not only saves time during recording sessions but also injects a powerful energy into the final product, giving their songs a unique and authentic feel.
“This is actually my second song with her, and the process is always the same. She can do it in one take and finish the whole recording. She is incredibly talented, and she never forgets the lines she has created instantly. It is always very interesting working with her, he added.
