Eve Mungai explains reasons behind her YouTube hiatus

Digital content creator and influencer Eve Mungai has finally opened up about her personal journey and what led to her unexpected withdrawal from the digital limelight.
During a question-and-answer session with her fans on Monday, August 25, 2025, Eve explained her hiatus after five years of relentless vlogging, revealing that burnout, a loss of creative control, and personal upheaval compelled her to step back at the height of her career.
In addition, the digital content creator articulated the emotional and professional toll the experience took on her, asserting that her hiatus was ultimately about reclaiming her identity and charting a new path forward.
The YouTuber admitted that she had lost herself by chasing the bag and other people’s dreams instead of her own.

She explained that she took a break to rediscover who she truly is and to figure out what she genuinely loves.
“After 5 years of the same routine, I finally got tired! I realised I had lost myself chasing the bag, chasing people’s dreams and not my own. I took some time off to rediscover Eve, to figure out what I truly love, “Eve revealed.
She affirmed that she belongs on screen, emphasising that this comeback is different and deeply personal because, for her, life is far more than burnout and just making money.
“One thing’s for sure, I belong on the screens. The comeback is personal this time. Because life is so much more than burnout and just making money,” she added.

When asked about documenting her lifestyle on YouTube, the content creator wondered aloud, exasperated, whether her content should focus on lifestyle, interviews, or showbiz like other vloggers.
She admitted that although her lifestyle is fascinating, she frequently hesitates to post because she does not know how best to present it.
“okaaaay!! Once and for all, guys!! Should I give lifestyle? Interviews on showbiz or what exactly! Help a guurl! My lifestyle is so interesting, but I end up not posting, idk how to go about it,” she asked.
