Guardian Angel’s wife, Esther Musila, has spoken strongly after hearing gospel singer Shiru wa GP share that the late Betty Bayo kept her struggles private because she feared being trolled.

Musila, on Monday, November 17, 2025, said she could not understand why anyone should feel pressured to hide their pain because of what people might say online.

She questioned how strangers believe they have the right to control or judge the lives of others.

Musila said, “When I heard what Shiru wa GP said yesterday during the memorial service of Betty Bayo, on how Betty Bayo was so afraid of people knowing her situation, because she did not want to be trolled. I asked myself, who are these human beings? Who think they have the power over people’s lives? Mimi naye, nitusi nikutusi vile nataka.” She went on to criticise those who involve themselves in the lives of others, especially those who target children.

In her tribute, Shiru revealed that Betty passed away believing that Kenyans despised her.

“You died thinking that everyone hated you, you were traumatised by Social Media bullying. Even in your hospital bed, you were terrified that you would be mocked for your illness”-

Why attack families

The mother and public figure asked how grown women, many of them mothers, find the energy to speak badly about other people’s children.

She said, “How do grown women who have had children have the energy to talk about other people’s children? Really? Really? You busy bodies, you need to check yourselves. You need to call a meeting within yourselves. Is that content creation? Talking about people’s children, shame on you.”

Musila added that she could not understand why society has so many people who involve themselves in matters that do not concern them. She expressed disappointment that such behaviour still exists, especially at a time when families should support one another through painful situations.

Her remarks came as the country continued to reflect on the life of gospel singer Betty Bayo, whose passing brought together leaders, artists and supporters. The memorial service, held at Christian Foundation Fellowship (CFF) in Kiambu Town on Sunday, November 16, 2025, also became a platform for leaders to speak about issues affecting Kenyans today.

At the event, Martha Karua and former senior economic advisor to President William Ruto, and Moses Kuria urged leaders to prioritise improving Kenya’s healthcare system.
