A former CNN anchor Don Lemon recently tied the knot to his longtime love, Tim Malone.

People reports the couple exchanged vows in front of 140 guests on Saturday, April 6.

The husbands got hitched in NYC at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church. Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the United States ambassador to the UN, officiated the ceremony.

The 55-year-old said, “She’s a friend, and it means that much to us.”

The pair have been engaged for five years and decided to have a traditional wedding.

Lemon, who is a Baptist, stated he “wanted to have a religious service.”

He continued, “I wanted to get married in the church. So, Tim made that happen.”

The television journalist shared how he and the real estate broker incorporated their culture’s traditions.

He stated, “Tim is from a big Irish family so we planned a big Irish blessing in there in his ceremony.”

Additionally, Lemon said “At the end, we jumped over a broom,” which is an African American tradition. It was illegal for those who were enslaved to be married. It was a way for the podcaster to honour his ancestors.

Don’s career

As previously reported, the anchor gained millions after his unexpected departure from CNN. The network settled his contract for $24.5 million.

The award-winning journalist secured a partnership with X, formerly known as Twitter. It was quickly canned after a tense interview with Elon Musk.

The billionaire allegedly didn’t like Lemon’s line of questioning.
