Capital FM’s DJ Alex Murimi alias DJ Lithium is dead.

DJ Lithium reportedly took poison inside the Capital FM offices on Wednesday, January 19, and was later rushed to Nairobi hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Before his death, Lithium reportedly deleted all his social media accounts and texted close friends and family telling them he is gone.

He also left a suicide note citing family issues as some of the reasons behind his decision.

In a statement by the station’s management, his death still remains under investigation.

“Alex was a great addition to the larger Capital FM team, encompassing great talent as a DJ, producer and possessed an interesting ”right-wing” sense of humour,” Danny Munyi, Capital FM’s Programmes Director said.

“To honour him, we will celebrate him for the passion he had for this company, his direct breakfast team, his fellow mixxmasters and cherish the moments we shared with him.”

“At this difficult time, we kindly ask you to respect the family’s privacy as we all grieve Alex’s loss,” the company said.

Alex worked at the station for eight years as a Producer and a DJ.
