Chief Godlove dismisses claims he sent Pipi Jojo to Kenya to flaunt wealth
By Steve Ireri, October 27, 2025Tanzanian influencer and businessman Godlove Mwakibete, alias Chief Godlove, has spoken out following claims that he sent his daughter, musician and social media sensation Pipi Jojo, to Kenya in a fleet of luxury cars to show off to local artistes.
Speaking during a phone call with YouTuber 2Mbili on Monday, October 27, 2025, the influencer, who is among Tanzania’s most flamboyant online personalities, said the cars that accompanied his daughter to Kenya were not meant to attract attention but were simply hers to use during her media tour.
“There is no one I am targeting in Kenya, so I really do not understand what people are talking about,” Godlove said.
Pipi, who arrived in Nairobi on Sunday, October 26, 2025, made headlines after being spotted in two high-end vehicles, a Mercedes convertible and a Mercedes GLE, before checking into an upscale mansion in the leafy suburb of Kileleshwa.
Godlove, however, rubbished the claims that the decision was deliberate showmanship, saying that the cars in question are part of his household’s regular collection and not a display of wealth.
He clarified that his wife often drives the same cars to run errands such as going to the market or the gym, adding that they hold no special significance beyond daily family use.
“The convertible and the GLE are my daughter’s cars, and I only allowed her to travel with them to Kenya. Those cars are nothing special to me because my wife also uses them to go to the market or sometimes to the gym,” Chief added.

He said that he merely allowed his daughter to use them for convenience while in Kenya and insisted that there was nothing extravagant about it. According to him, people had misinterpreted a simple gesture of parental support for a publicity stunt.
“That is why I do not see it as a big deal that Pipi brought them along for her media tour in Kenya.”
Chief’s abscence
Chief also defended his absence during his daughter’s Kenya trip, saying he had been tied up with numerous work commitments and could not accompany her despite initially planning to do so.
He emphasised that Pipi Jojo is a grown woman capable of handling her engagements independently, and that her media tour in Kenya was purely professional.
“As for Pipi, I consider her a grown woman who can handle herself, and the reason I did not travel with her is because I have a lot of work to attend to. It is very difficult for me to find time to accompany her everywhere,” the self-proclaimed billionaire added.
He also dismissed suggestions that he has avoided visiting Kenya, explaining that he has always viewed Kenya as a second home and intends to visit soon.
He revealed that he had even planned to attend the recent fundraiser for Kaluma Boy but was unable to make it after sustaining a hand injury.
Godlove reiterated that he will visit Kenya in due course, noting that his busy schedule is the only reason for the delay, not reluctance.
“It is also not true that I have refused to come to Kenya. I have said many times that I will visit. I was even supposed to attend the Kaluma Boy fundraiser, but I injured my hand, and that is why I could not make it. I will come to Kenya because Kenya is like home to me, but just not right now.”
