Chebet Ronoh calls out society for avoiding uncomfortable truths
By Paulette Mboga, December 3, 2025Content creator and dancer Chebet Ronoh has spoken out about what she sees as society’s refusal to face its own truths.
She said on Instagram on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, that whenever she points out uncomfortable realities, people act as if she has said something unfair or deplorable. She believes that understanding who we are and what we stand for requires honesty and self-reflection.

Ronoh said, “I just hold the mirror to society every time, and they act like I said the most deplorable and unfair thing. If we can’t hear the truth of who we are and what we stand for, are we really being ourselves? Are we honest and authentic?”
She added that life means recognising both the shadows and the light within us.
“I think life is acknowledging our shadows, not ignoring their existence but accepting them and sitting in them alongside our light,” she said.

Finally speaking up
The content creator explained that her decision to speak out comes after years of staying silent and avoiding controversy. She said something inside her has grown passionate, and she is now following her intuition.
“I don’t know why I started speaking up, but something in me is so passionate right now, and I’m following my intuition after hiding and shrinking for so long,” she explained.
Ronoh’s comments come amid ongoing discussions about the cosmetic surgery frenzy in Nairobi. She has been very clear that she opposes cosmetic procedures and prefers natural ways to maintain beauty and fitness.

She believes that people should focus on healthy routines like exercise and diet instead of rushing into surgical procedures for instant results.
The debate over cosmetic surgery in Nairobi has divided opinions, with some supporting natural methods while others embrace modern enhancements. Ronoh’s perspective is rooted in her belief that authenticity and honesty with oneself are more important than following trends.
Chebet Ronoh says that life requires courage to acknowledge both strengths and weaknesses and to act according to one’s true self rather than the expectations of society.
