Kenyan hip-hop artiste Paul Baraka alias Breeder LW has expressed his admiration for Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge and proposes that various landmarks and facilities in Kenya be named after the legendary marathon runner.

Through his Insta stories, the ‘Kalale‘ hitmaker acknowledged Eliud Kipchoge’s unparalleled achievements and referred to him as the “GOAT” (Greatest of All Time) of marathon running.

He also drew comparisons to international sports icons like Michael Jordan, Usain Bolt, Lionel Messi, Michael Phelps, and Rafael Nadal, emphasizing that Kenya possesses its own global sporting legend in the form of Eliud Kipchoge.

“Eliud Kipchoge ni goat wa marathon, hypothetically him being Kenyan means tuko na Michael Jordan, Bolt, Messi, Phelps ama Rafael Nadal wa marathon. Tuko na mtu mwenye ni the best ever in the world kwa field yake in our midst. Greatness, we need a stadium, road, statue kila kitu in his name to celebrate hii achievement yake. Living legend,” Breeder wrote.

Breeder: So many untapped talents in the sports sector

Breeder also highlighted the vast, untapped sports talent in Kenya.

He expressed concern that many talented individuals remain undiscovered and lack opportunities due to the perception of sports as a mere hobby rather than a serious pursuit.

“Nilisomea hizo sides za Iten. Hio base kwa watu kumi, nane ni athletes. Ideally, tuko na ma Eliud Kipchoge na Faith Kipyegon in thousands ni ati wajakua discovered yet or gotten opportunities. Kila asubuhi na jioni unapata watu wako zoezi tu. Na wanakimbia bro,” he asserted.

We had someone in school alikua anakimbia 100 meters na 9.9 hapo. That’s without professional world-class training. Kenya when it comes to sports. We have a lot of untapped talent. A lot. Grassroot ukiingia watu wanacheza volley ball. Foota. Bake. Boxing…all kinds of sport na ni wanoma. Shida ni we treat sports like ni hobby. Hatuoni ni shuguli inaeza change lives za watu wengi. Hopefully one day tutapata lava inachukulia sports seriously.”
