Sauti Sol lead singer Bien-Aime Barasa fired back at a fan who bashed the boy band for taking too long to release new projects unlike in the past.
Reacting to one of Bien’s posts, the fan compelled the award-winning band to announce that have officially quit music rather than keeping their fans waiting.
He faulted Sauti Sol for their laxity, noting that Tanzanian artists have taken over the Kenyan music scene.
“Sauti Sol you’ve completely let down your music fans. Just announce you have officially quit music instead of treating us like fools. After all that support we have given to you, that’s how you pay us. We will never forgive you because Tanzania is controlling everything. At this point we cannot be nominated for MAMA or AFRIMMA,” commented the fan.
In retaliation, Bien bashed the fan using the famous ‘ambia serikali ikupatie kazi’ phrase, urging him to support other Kenyan artists instead.
“Wachana na mambo ya Sautisol na uambie serikali ikupee kazi. Wasanii ni wengi sana Kenya. Support hao wengine basi. Hii roho ya sumu toa kwa page yangu,” he said.
(Leave Sauti Sol alone and ask the government to give you a job. Artists are so many in Kenya, support them. Get away from my page with negative energy.)
Sauti Sol slowed down on releasing new projects after the inception of Sol Generation comprising of singers Benson Mutua alias Bensoul and Nviiri Sande also known as Nviiri The Storyteller.
The band’s latest project was Rhumba Japani video which is from their album, Midnight Train.
