Betty Bayo’s family sends warm message to Kenyans for standing with them after her passing

The family of the late gospel singer Betty Bayo has issued a heartfelt message of gratitude to Kenyans, leaders, clergy, and artistes who stood with them throughout the difficult grieving period following her recent passing and burial.
In a detailed statement shared via Betty’s official Facebook page on Sunday, November 23, 2025, the family expressed deep appreciation to everyone who offered prayers, time, resources and presence, saying the collective support helped them navigate the painful and tender season with strength.
“Your prayers, your time, your resources, and above all, your presence helped us shoulder the weight of loss with grace, compassion, and the honour that Betty’s beautiful life deserved,” the family said, adding that they were truly humbled and forever grateful.

The family also acknowledged the support of the Government of Kenya, led by President William Ruto, and extended special appreciation to former President Uhuru Kenyatta for standing with them.
They further recognised Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, his predecessor Rigathi Gachagua, several Cabinet Secretaries, Members of Parliament, and senior government officials whose solidarity, they said, deeply strengthened them.
“We respectfully acknowledge and appreciate the Government of Kenya, led by His Excellency President William Samoei Ruto, and sincerely recognise His Excellency Former President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta for standing with us. We further thank His Excellency the Deputy President, Prof. Kithure Kindiki, Cabinet Secretaries, Members of Parliament, and all senior government officials for their presence, solidarity, and support,” the family said.

Special gratitude was extended to leaders who were close to Betty, including MP Wamumbi and his wife, Betty Maina, Sabina Chege, Wamuratha, and various Principal Secretaries and parliamentary leaders who attended and supported the family.
The family also paid tribute to the church community, led by Bishop Wanderi of CFF, praising the clergy for offering spiritual guidance and comfort during their most difficult moments.
“To the church (CFF led by Bishop Wanderi) and clergy, we offer our warm appreciation for covering us with spiritual guidance, comfort, and unwavering presence. Your prayers and Ministry provided strength when our hearts were weakest, and your love ensured that Betty’s farewell carried the dignity and honour she deserved,” the family added.
Artistes and musicians who turned up in large numbers to honour one of their own were praised for their unity and love, with the family highlighting the coordination efforts led by Shiru wa GP in ensuring that Betty’s ministry and legacy were celebrated with respect.
“To the artists and musicians, thank you for standing with one of your own with unity, love, and respect. Your presence, your voices, and your support, together with the coordination of Shiru wa GP, helped us honour Betty’s Ministry and celebrate her legacy with grace.”

The family committees, including the local team, Bluespring, and the US chapter, were also recognised for their tireless service, ensuring a seamless and dignified farewell for the beloved singer.
In an emotional gesture, the family extended special thanks to Harrison Geita and Mary Geita of Delights Funeral Services for their sensitivity, professionalism, and compassionate support throughout the period.
“To every member of the public who prayed, attended, supported, or simply held us in thought, may God bless you abundantly for honouring our family during this difficult time,” the statement added.
The family concluded by noting that while they could not mention every name individually, they trusted that God sees every sacrifice, every prayer, and every act of kindness, and would richly reward everyone who stood with them.
“As a family, while we cannot mention every name, we are confident that our Father in Heaven sees every sacrifice, every prayer, and every act of kindness. May He richly reward you for the love you have shown. From the depths of our hearts, THANK YOU,” they added.

Betty Bayo, remembered for her impactful gospel ministry and warm personality, was laid to rest earlier on Thursday, November 20, 2025, in a ceremony attended by hundreds of mourners from across the country.
