I’m your senior: Lilian Ng’ang’a reflects on life as she turns 41

Former Machakos County First Lady and author Lilian Ng’ang’a is celebrating her 41st birthday.

The mother of one shared the milestone with her followers through a playful post on her Instagram page on Sunday, June 21, 2026, just hours before turning a year older.

“I am now your Senior 😎😅 I have so much I could write about how being 40 has been, but I’m lazy. SMH. Looking forward to turning 41, tomorrow!”

This comes weeks after she shared a lighthearted reflection on self-care, ageing, and the everyday relationship people have with makeup and confidence.

In a post shared on Instagram on Friday, May 8, 2026, she documented a self-care moment and opened up about how skin naturally changes with age, noting it is something she has become more aware of over time.

She also reflected on the experience of going out without makeup, admitting that while she does it sometimes, there are still moments when she feels like something is missing before stepping out. It was an honest, everyday confession that sits between confidence and habit, something many people quietly understand even if they do not always say it out loud.

She wondered whether the real goal might be to reach a place where makeup-free days feel completely effortless and carefree.

“A little self-care, as they say:) It’s interesting to see how our skin changes as we age.. Can you leave the house makeup-free? I do sometimes, but still feel like something is missing 😃 Maybe the goal is to go make up free and be carefree – Idk,” she shared.
