Wednesday blackout to affect parts of 2 counties

Kenya Power has announced a scheduled power outage that will affect parts of Kajiado County and Kiambu County on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

In a notice issued on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, the utility company said the interruption is necessary to allow for routine maintenance on its network.

In Kajiado County, the outage will affect the Amboseli and Isara areas from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. Customers expected to experience the interruption include those around Jesbriquet, Sopa Lodge, Ngong Veg, AA Lodge, Mada Hotel, Kibo Safari, Ngong Narok Primary, Omra, Mbirikani and sections near Simba Cement.

In Kiambu County, the blackout will affect areas around Kenyatta University and China Square from 9.00 am to 4.30 pm.

Kenya Power said institutions and businesses likely to be affected include China Square, National Oil, the Kenyatta University Library, the Kenyatta University Mortuary, the Kenyatta University Administration Block and nearby customers.

Kenya Power urged residents and institutions in the affected areas to prepare for the planned interruption as its teams carry out maintenance works.
