Wavinya Ndeti warns opposition leaders against exploiting Kalonzo
By Mustafa Juma, September 8, 2025Machakos County Governor Wavinya Ndeti has sounded a warning to opposition leaders against exploiting Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on Sunday, September 7, 2025, during a church service attended by Kalonzo and his Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) counterpart Eugine Wamalwa at the AIC Kasina church in Mlolongo, Machakos County, Ndeti declared Kalonzo the next president.
She warned that leaders should stop using the former vice president as a bridge to be used for crossing every election cycle.
“By the grace of God, you will be the next president of the Republic of Kenya. Tuko na ndugu yetu Wamalwa hapa na wale wengine. Hatujakuja kufanya siasa hapa, lakini tusiwe watu wa kutumia mheshimiwa Kalonzo ili tuweze kuvuka. Maneno ya kutumia party leader imeisha,” Ndeti declared.

She went ahead to note that every politician should enter the political field to fight for their interests the same way Kalonzo is now fighting for the presidency.
Ndeti further assured Kalonzo that he was their only focus at the moment and that they would do everything possible to help him clinch the topmost political seat in the country.
According to her, Kalonzo’s political enemies have been trying to malign him, but he has always proved them wrong.
“Kila mtu aingie kwa field ajipiganie, kwa sababu ata Kalonzo anajipigania kwa kiti ya president. Our focus is one, and our focus is you, and I wish you God’s blessings kwa sababu tunajua kusema kweli wewe ni mweupe kama pamba, and we are not just saying that about you because we are in the church; we have seen people try to say things about you, but at the end of the day, you have proved them wrong. Simama na sisi, na sisi tutasimama na nyinyi,” she said.
United opposition
Kalonzo and Wamalwa are part of the united opposition team that also consists of former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, and People’s Liberation Party (PLP) party leader Martha Karua.
The team is expected to produce one candidate who will vie against President William Ruto during the 2027 general elections. Will it be Kalonzo, Matiang’i, Karua, or Gachagua? Well, time will tell.
