At least 70 companies, including G4S Cash Solutions and Ukwala Supermarket (Nakuru), have been dissolved by the Registrar of Companies, who has given a notice to 90 others that face the same fate.

“Pursuant to section 897 (4) of the Companies Act, it is notified for the information of the general public that the following companies are dissolved and their names have been struck off the Register of Companies with effect from the date of publication of this notice,” Deputy Registrar of Companies Hiram Gachugi said in a gazette notice of March 28, 2025.

Ukwala, a once-popular supermarket chain, applied for liquidation in 2024 after it failed to meet financial obligations due to debts owed to suppliers, staff and other entities. The supermarket also owed hundreds of millions to KRA at the time of seeking dissolution.
