Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta chaired the first Jubilee Party National Executive Committee meeting on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, after the court ruling and the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) affirmed his leadership.

During the meeting, the party resolved to convene a National Delegates Conference (NDC) in approximately one month.

According to the former ruling party, the NDC is expected to finalise party leadership and strategic direction.

Uhuru will spearhead the new direction of the party as it seeks to mainstream its operations.

Worth noting, this is the first NEC meeting held following the conclusion of the court cases involving the party.

Following a press statement released by the party, the session deliberated on key issues affecting it, which, according to the leadership, included a comprehensive review of party affairs.

In addition, the Jubilee Party has also revealed strategic plans for reinvigorating the party’s structures and operations across the country.

“The session deliberated on key issues affecting the Party, including a comprehensive review of Party affairs, an assessment of the progress made on ongoing programmes and strategic plans for reinvigorating the Party’s structures and operations across the nation,” the Jubilee Party stated.

On the other hand, the Jubilee leadership has reaffirmed its commitment to restoring the Jubilee Party’s central role in national political discourse and serving its members with renewed dedication.

Strategy and ideals

According to the Jubilee Party Digital and Communication Strategist, Pauline Njoroge, the crucial meeting marks a significant step in reaffirming the party’s ideals and strategic direction, as well as Jubilee’s internal unity.

“H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta, 4th President of the Republic of Kenya and Party Leader of Jubilee, today chaired a meeting of the Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC). This crucial meeting marks a significant step in reaffirming the Jubilee Party’s ideals, strategic direction, and internal unity,” Pauline stated.

While also adding that the party remains firm in its role within the opposition, she added that the Jubilee Party is committed to championing the interests of the people and upholding democratic principles.

“At a time of dynamic political realignments, the party remains steadfast in its role within the opposition, committed to championing the interests of the people and upholding democratic principles,” Pauline noted.
