Two police officers were on Wednesday, August 18, nabbed by their colleagues after they were linked to robbery with violence.

In a police report seen by K24 Digital, Martin Murimi and Albert Kimutai who are attached to Sawagongo police post in Gem Constituency, Siaya County were arrested by officers attached to Kisumu police station.

“They were arrested in connection to a case of attempted robbery with violence in which they are suspects,” the report read in part.

The report revealed that the duo was captured on CCTV while in the act of making the robbery and a number of exhibits were recovered.

Police officers recovered a uni-hut, a pink marvin, black coat and a mobile phone in Murimi’s house while in Kimutai’s house police recovered uni-hut, a marron polo t-shirt and one camouflage cap peak.

Two firearms a G3 rifle of serial number A02366 and an AK47 rifle of serial number 6004675 were collected from the police post to assist in the investigations.

In the recent past cases of police constables have hit news headlines for all the bad reasons.

On Tuesday, August 17, four officers identified as Thomas Okuku, Lawrence Mbau, James Munyoki and Dan Keya were nabbed after they allegedly conspired to steal Sh1.030 from a curfew violator.

The four were arrested by detectives drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers in Ruiru, Kiambu County.

The victim then took to social media where he lamented over the incident saying that he was mistreated by the officers just because he was found outside past curfew hours.

Detectives also arrested Charles Muteria a Mpesa shop owner and Bosco Ereng who works at the Mpesa.

It was so hard for the victim to reverse the transaction since the one who received the money quickly withdrew it.
