By Aloys Michael, October 29, 2025The Social Health Authority (SHA) board has named CPA Pariken Ole Sankei as the new Director of Internal Audit.
In an announcement released on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, the board chair, Abdi Mohamed, relayed that the appointment had followed a competitive recruitment process that started on July 29, 2025.
“The Social Health Authority (SHA) Board is pleased to announce the appointment of CPA Pariken Ole Sankei as the new Director of Internal Audit. This key appointment follows a competitive and transparent recruitment process that began on July 29, 2025,” the statement read in part.
SHA said that Sankare has been serving as the Acting Director of Internal Audit, a role he will now officially transition from.
“He brings on board over 20 years of experience in the role, having served as Head of Internal Audit at the defunct National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), the Public Service Commission (PSC), and the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA),” the authority said.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business Administration and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Public Secretary (CPS).
“His wealth of experience will be vital as he joins the senior leadership team in steering the Authority’s mandate of providing financial protection and strategic purchasing of healthcare services for all Kenyans,” Mohamed said.
Pariken Ole Sankei’s appointment comes just over a month after the Directorate of Criminal Investigations announced that it had received 1,188 files from the Social Health Authority (SHA) and the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
Concerns over SHA audits
DCI said the files pertain to individuals, entities, and various parties suspected of engaging in health care fraud.
The entity said a multi-agency team has been constituted under the leadership of the DCI with a view to expeditiously reviewing the files.
The objective of the review, they said, is to make sure that all those who have been involved in any form of healthcare fraud will be arraigned regardless of their social status and political affiliations.

“In collaboration with all other law enforcement agencies, we are committed to recovering all assets and other resources acquired through fraudulent means. The public will be kept informed on the progress of the investigations through regular updates,” DCI said.
“The DCI remains at the forefront in supporting all government and non-governmental entities in the fight against all forms of fraud, while urging the public to remain vigilant and report such criminalities.”
Ministry of Health CS Aden Duale confirmed handing over the files, terming the move a major milestone in the fight against healthcare fraud.
Duale claimed the files contain evidence targeting fraudulent and non-compliant healthcare facilities and individuals.
