Ruto ends first day of Ukambani tour with Ksh24.92B in new promises

On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, Ruto announced development promises worth Ksh24.92B.
Sharing the news on his Facebook account, he reassured locals that no region, including Ukambani, would be left behind.
Billions in new projects
Ruto wrote, “Our Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda is the tide that lifts all boats. No region, and no community, is left behind.”
He highlighted that KSh1.5B has been set aside to upgrade roads across Makueni County.
The work, he explained, will improve connectivity and give residents easier access to services and economic opportunities.
The President added that his government is investing Ksh9.3B in the Thwake Dam and Ksh2B in electricity connectivity.
More than 18,000 households are expected to benefit from the new power connections.
“This comes in addition to the Ksh770 million Wote Stadium, and over Ksh11 billion directed toward affordable housing and modern student hostels,” Ruto’s post reads in parts.
Commitment to transformation
Ruto also broke ground for the Ksh350M Wote Modern Market in Makueni County.
He visited the 755-unit Wote Affordable Housing Project, promising locals that development is moving steadily.
“This is what we mean when we say we possess the commitment, the vision and the resources to transform Kenya into a First-World nation,” he wrote.
Ruto’s message made it clear that his government is focused on projects that directly impact the lives of Kenyans.
Roads, water, electricity, housing, and markets are all part of the plan to make life easier and open up opportunities for work and business.
The President was accompanied by several Cabinet Secretaries and senior officials who will oversee the projects in the coming days.
The tour will continue across Kitui and Machakos counties, with more project launches and inspections expected over the next two days.
Residents in Makueni welcomed the announcements, saying the promises bring hope for better services and more opportunities in their daily lives.
