A police officer on Sunday, January 9, committed suicide by shooting himself on the chin.

In a police report seen by this reporter, the officer identified as Jacob Masha,32, shot himself in the chin with the bullet exiting through his forehead.

The report which was made by his colleague identified as Francis Mngola revealed that he had locked himself in the house when he ended his life.

“It was reported by CPL Francis Mngola that he heard a gunshot from his neighbour’s room at the Police line,” the report read in part.

The Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Makupa Police Station and his colleagues rushed to the scene where they found that the house was locked from inside prompting them to break the door.

It is after they managed to access the house that they found the lifeless body of the officer lying in a pool of blood.
