President William Ruto on Saturday met retired Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Generals.

The retired generals had attended the 60th anniversary of the Kenya Air Force presided over by the President.

Taking to his official social media pages, the Head of State described his meeting with the retired generals at the Moi Air Base in Eastleigh as an honour.

He also noted that they are an inspiration to the serving Generals and remind Kenyans of the importance of executing their civil duties with dedication and discipline.

“It was an honour interacting with retired Kenya Defence Forces Generals during the Kenya Air Force 60th anniversary. Their stories and experiences are an inspiration to our serving Generals and remind us of the importance of executing our civil duties with dedication and discipline,” Ruto said.

In the same breath, Ruto reiterated the government’s commitment to revamping the Kenya Air Force.

Ruto assured the soldiers that his administration will enhance efforts to modernise KAF and ensure that they have the tools, resources and training they need to tackle any challenges.

“The threats we face are ever-evolving, but so too are our capabilities. The government of Kenya is committed to ensuring the modernisation of our Air Force by ensuring that you have the tools, training and resources needed to meet any challenges,

“We will invest in cutting-edge technology, enhance your skills and support your missions to keep our nation safe and our future secure,” Ruto stated.

Additionally, the president stated that his administration will support the Kenya Air Force to train a minimum of 200 pilots every year.

“The Kenya Air Force has promised me that they have the capabilities and I will also commit that my administration will support the Kenya Air Force to train a minimum of 200 pilots every year,” the president added.
