Parent in shock after son who secured admission slot at Kakamega High is turned down, directed to Extra County school

A parent who had accompanied her boy, who scored 382 marks and secured a chance at Kakamega High School, is left reeling in shock after she was dismissed that her son was called at the institution.

According to Mrs Odilia Luyayi, the boy secured a chance to join Kakamega High School and was shocked to be told that her son had his chance at an extra county school known as Chebuyusi High school in Navakholo.

” My son David Shimonyo sat for KCPE and scored 382 marks and was to join Kakamega High School. I downloaded the letter from the ministry of education website, surprisingly after completing the admission process including fees payment, I was shocked to be told that my son was supposed to join an extra county school that is Chebuyusi Secondary school,” the mother said.

She said her efforts to reach the school principal were futile and was instead forced to admit the letter she possessed was obtained through forgery.

Kakamega School principal Gerald Orina, who spoke to K24 Digital on phone, said the authenticity of the letter is in question and they are making a follow up to establish the truth and see how they can help a parent.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth Kasoha and Deborah Grace from two families who scored a twin mark of 345 went to school St. Paul’s Emulakha in Navakholo empty-handed and in civilian clothes forcing the school administration to admit them even without school uniform.

The school principal Mrs Emily Muhonja she was forced to admit the two students after their parents failed to raise school fees to take them to their dream school in Kibuk girls and Chebukaka school respectively.
