Osotsi to Ruto: Raila will be happy in heaven if you fulfil UDA-ODM 10-point agenda
By Aloys Michael, October 19, 2025ODM Deputy Party leader and Vihiga County Senator Godfrey Osotsi has urged President William Ruto to fulfil the implementation of the broad-based agreement that he made with the late Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Speaking on Sunday, October 19, 2025, in Siaya County during Raila Odinga’s burial ceremony, Osotsi said that fulfilling the 10-point agenda will further cement the legacy of the late former prime minister.
“On March this year Baba Raila Odinga aliweka kidole kwa mkataba. Ten points agenda ambayo ni maswala ya wakenya. Mheshimiwa rais umesaidia ndugu yako vikubwa lakini Baba atakuwa na furaha sana kule binguni kama hiyo ten point agenda itakamilika vile alikuwa anataka,”he said.
“Na Baba mwenyewe alikuwa amesema tarehe ishini na sita march next year yale maswala kumi yawe yametekelezwa kwa hivyo rais. I know you have the ability, I know you have the capability and power, please make Baba happy in heaven.”
His remarks come amid growing speculation over the future of the ODM party and the pact between Raila and Ruto.
However, the late Raila’s allies have expressed confidence that they will remain in the broad-based government and work with the Head of State beyond the 2027 general polls.

Orengo echoes similar sentiments
On his part, Siaya Governor James Orengo has urged Ruto to maintain peace and ensure the broad-based operation within the parameters set.
“We cannot allow gains to go that way. Raila fought for this country. I urge your Mr President to fully implement the broad-based pact between you and my late brother Raila,” he appealed.
Meanwhile, ODM Secretary General and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has promised to keep the party united following the death of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
This comes as internal rifts continue to glare over the last public statement made by the late premier on the future of the ODM party.
Speaking on Sunday, October 19, 2025, in Siaya County during the burial ceremony of Raila, Sifuna insisted that Raila’s last directive was that ODM will field a candidate in the 2027 General Elections
“Mimi nataka niseme kwamba Baba alikuwa anasikiza wananchi.Nataka ku encourage wanachama wa ODM. Sasa tunyamaze tusikize wananchi wanasema nini. Baba alizungumza wazi tarehe ishirini na mbili mwezi uliopita mbele ya hawa wabunge, aliongea kwa kinywa chake mwenyewe, naomba viongozi msiingize maneno kwa mdomo ya mtu ambaye amelala,” he said.
