Omosh One Hour reveals political reasoning behind renewed support for Ruto

Famous Bunge la Mwananchi politician Omosh One Hour has explained why he has been perceived as wavering in his political loyalty, outlining how he moved from critic to unwavering supporter of Ruto.

Speaking during an interview with Oga Obinna on Monday, August 25, 2025, he recalled a time when he used to discourage citizens from voting for Ruto while suggesting that other candidates were better suited for leadership than him.

He revealed that his early opposition was fervent, rooted in personal conviction, and reflected a belief that Ruto’s leadership at the time was inadequate.

“Honestly, in the past, I used to say William Ruto was bad, and I even told people it would be better to vote for Mende instead of him. I was very critical of Ruto, but I never participated in protests against him. I used to act out of my own conviction,” he said.

He added that despite his criticisms, he never participated in protests or demonstrations because he had a vendetta against the president, emphasising that his opposition was personal and reflective rather than performative.

He revealed that over time, his perspective began to shift as he observed the tangible outcomes of government initiatives.

“Later, I changed my mind and started supporting him because I saw the work he was doing. During the campaign, I acknowledged his efforts, and my perspective began to shift,” he added.

Omosh added that policies and programmes improving livelihoods, delivering affordable housing, and addressing critical societal needs prompted him to reassess Ruto’s leadership and recognise the positive impact of his administration.

He said the gradual realignment marked a turning point in his political reasoning, as he began to prioritise results over rhetoric, evaluating leaders by the effectiveness of their policies rather than partisan narratives.

“To me, he is like Jesus, and I support his vision wholeheartedly. He has delivered on work, including affordable housing, and I believe he will lead effectively for the next ten years.”

Omosh added that his renewed support is deliberate and unwavering, underscoring that he now fully backs Ruto and intends to continue supporting him through 2032.

He said his allegiance is informed by observable governance outcomes and not by fleeting political trends or popular pressure.

“Now, I can say without fear that I fully support Ruto and will continue to back him until 2032. My life has changed since I started supporting him. I am no longer the same Omosh I was before. I am engaged with the government, and I cannot insult Ruto just to please people,” he said.
