Video footage of a catholic priest punishing two people suspected to have stolen from a business enterprise has gone viral on social media.

As seen in the video, Father Paul Nyambane of Kisii Diocese is captured caning the two suspected thieves while at the same time informing them of biblical teaching where Jesus punished wrongdoers before praying for them.

Preliminary information indicates the two boys stole from a shop and the priest came across them while passing along the scene of crime.

The boys had their hands tied with a rope when the priest was caning them as a small group of people was seen witnessing the ordeal.

” We have two types of demons; one that needs prayers and the other that needs canes, and thereafter prayers…When Jesus found some people selling goods in the temple, he also caned them and later prayed for them,” the priest is heard saying in the video has he punish them.

Sources told K24 Digital that the priest serves at St Pauls Gekano Parish in Nyamira County.

According to him, he was punishing the two for the offence as a way of instilling discipline.

The identity of the two suspects was yet to be established by the time of going to press.
