Nuru Okanga reveals reason he will soon relocate from Nairobi

Raila Odinga diehard fan Nuru Okanga has disclosed his plans to leave Nairobi and fully commit to his 2027 bid for the Member of County Assembly (MCA) seat in Orera Ward, Matungu Constituency.
Speaking in a YouTube video on Friday, August 8, 2025, Okanga explained that after careful reflection, he decided it was time to return home and concentrate on grassroots mobilisation ahead of the upcoming elections.
“My name is Nuru Okanga, a young man from Kakamega County, Matungu Constituency, Orera Ward, and I am an aspirant for the MCA seat in 2027. Before I say anything else, I want to explain that I have sat down and realised that the time has come for me to stand as MCA back home,” he said.
Okanga revealed that he is preparing to relocate by December, allowing him to lay a strong foundation for his campaign.
He emphasised the importance of connecting with his constituents on a personal level, which involves hosting and entertaining visitors during the campaign trail.
On that note, he acknowledged the substantial costs and budgetary demands that lie ahead as an aspiring politician, and urged his dedicated supporters to stand by him and continue gifting him money.
“I am planning to move back home in December to start preparing the ground. I have come to make a public appeal because, as a politician, when you arrive, people want to eat rice at your place and drink tea; if you have something to offer, you should share it,” he explained.

Further, Okanga made a direct appeal for financial support to facilitate hosting campaign visitors, specifically requesting contributions to purchase large cooking pots needed for preparing food for guests.
He insisted that he had a substantial budget of Ksh90,000 and stated that he is relying entirely on his supporters to help raise the funds.
“I want to go to the bank and open a paybill to receive funds to buy cooking pots for the visitors who will be coming to see me. I have a budget of about Ksh90,000 and I want to buy five large cooking pots. The budget is approximately between 90,000 and 100,000 shillings,” Okanga stated.
While acknowledging his own hard work and support from friends both in Kenya and abroad, Okanga urged his followers and supporters to assist him in this endeavour.
“I am a young man working hard with my people in America and here in Kenya. I ask for your support,” he concluded.
