Murkomen mourns MP Mohamed Tubi as pillar of peace and stability in Isiolo

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has joined other leaders in mourning the late Isiolo South MP Mohamed Tubi.

Taking to his official X account on the night of Wednesday, November 12, 2025, Murkomen described Tubi as a dedicated leader who played a crucial role in fostering peace, security, and development in the region.

In his condolence message, Murkomen said he had known and worked closely with Tubi since his tenure as the Speaker of the Isiolo County Assembly, commending his never-ending dedication to the well-being of his people.

“My deepest condolences to the family, friends, and the people of Isiolo South following the passing of Hon. Mohamed Tubi. I knew Hon. Tubi and worked with him since his days as the Speaker of Isiolo County Assembly. He was a key pillar in our collective efforts to promote peace, security, and stability in Isiolo County,” Murkomen stated.

Peaceful coexistence champion

He lauded the late legislator’s legacy of championing peaceful coexistence among communities, as well as his passion for development and environmental conservation.

“Hon. Tubi will be fondly remembered for his legacy of commitment to development, peaceful coexistence, and environmental conservation,” he added.

The CS extended his condolences to the family, friends, and constituents of Isiolo South, praying for comfort and strength during the difficult time.

“May God rest his soul in eternal peace and comfort his loved ones,” Murkomen said.

Tubi, who died on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, was serving his first term in Parliament, where he sat in the Departmental Committee on Environment, Forestry and Mining, as well as the Public Petitions Committee.

Before joining the National Assembly, he served as the inaugural Speaker of the Isiolo County Assembly, a position he held until 2017.

Ruto mourns Tubi

Taking to his social media account on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, President William Ruto eulogised the MP as a dedicated public servant who advocated for community empowerment.

“I have learnt with deep sorrow of the passing on of Isiolo South MP, Hon Mohamed Tubi. On behalf of the government and the people of Kenya, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the people of Isiolo South,” Ruto wrote.

“Hon Tubi will be remembered as a dedicated public servant and a passionate advocate for education, who believed in empowering communities through knowledge and opportunity.”

The Head of State said the commitment of the late legislator to transforming the lives of his constituents and advancing development in Isiolo stands as a lasting legacy of his leadership.

“May the Almighty God rest his soul in eternal peace and comfort his loved ones during this very difficult time,” the statement read.
