Milele FM presenter-cum-comedian Kendrick Mulamwah has taken to social media to address speculations surrounding his firstborn daughter, Lisa.
During a question and answer session on Thursday, July 25, 2024, the popular comedian revealed that he had his reasons why he refrained from posting about Lisa, and felt the need to clarify her existence.
Mulamwah disclosed that Lisa’s mother passed away some time ago, and as a result, she has been under the care of her aunties.
Not a deadbeat
Despite maintaining a low profile about Lisa, Mulamwah assured his followers that he supports and spends time with his daughter, emphasizing that she visits them in Nairobi regularly, with his wife Ruth K fully aware of the situation.
“About my daughter that I had posted earlier, najua mtauliza na mbona shosh hakutaja huyu, it is because, after we lost the mother, alienda kuishi na shangazi zake. For the longest time, I have been supporting, I have been there, we have been meeting, bestie anamjua, huwa nakuja hadi Nairobi, tunakaa hadi kwa nyumba hapa,” Mulamwah noted.
According to Mulamwah, Lisa, who is nearing her eighth birthday, remains a cherished part of his life, though he opts to keep her out of the public eye due to the complexities surrounding their family dynamic.
He revealed he decided to keep Lisa’s life private reflecting his desire to shield her from unnecessary attention and scrutiny in the public domain.
“She is now transitioning to miake yake saba. She is very amazing and hatujataka kumpost juu life yake iko private hivyo sio lazima kila time unapublicize na sio kila kitu unasema… because kwa shule yake ataanza kukuwa na issues, walimu wake wataanza kukuwa na maneno na yeye, shangazi zake wataanza kukuwa on the spotlight, which we do not want,” Mulamwah remarked.
Setting the record straight
Addressing the revelation made by Mulamwah’s grandmother regarding having one grandchild from him, the comedian clarified that the granny’s advanced age plays a role in her memory, only recalling grandchildren who are in close contact with her.
Despite his daughter Keilah not having met her grandmother yet, Mulamwah expressed hope that should the opportunity arise, the bond between them would be strong and enduring.
“So that’s why unaona shosh ako na mambo mingi, wajukuu ni wengi hadi hawajui, wenye anajua ni wale anakaa na wao hapo…hawezi kuwa anamjua kwasababu hajawahi muona, hajawahi mbeba, the last time alikuwa huko Carol alikuwa na ball. Saa hii Keilah, anaingia three years, ukiunganisha na ile ya ball, total inakuwa 4 years, shosh atamkumbuka wapi. Ukimpelekea saa hii ameshike unafikiria atawahi msahau? So mkiongea, mambo inakuwa just a lot,” Mulamwah added.
