MP Nyamita: Ruto is the first working president
Uriri Member of Parliament Mark Nyamita has praised President William Ruto’s administration in regard to development milestones across various parts of the country.
Nyamita made his remarks on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, in an interview with a local media house, stating that Ruto is by far the first working president, further stating that there are several developments across the country courtesy of Ruto’s administration.
At the time of the interview, the legislator highlighted the strides in healthcare access and food security. Nyamita further added that the current government has initiated projects in all corners of Kenya, achievements that Nyamita claims outshine previous administrations.
In addition, the Uriri MP revealed that access to healthcare units in Kenya has expanded from at least 7 million to over 24 million Kenyans registered within a short span of 2 years under Ruto’s administration.
Nyamita remarks on SHA
“President Ruto is working. For the first time in our country, there is a government project in every part of the nation. Access to healthcare has expanded from 7 million to over 24 million Kenyans within just two years,” Nyamita said.

Similarly, Nyamita, while acknowledging the challenges in the health system, revealed that the current OTP-based authorisation failure will be handled in no time.
“I saw there are a number of issues with OTP, especially now that they are migrating online, but those are really small issues,” Nyamita said.
In addition, Nyamita, while comparing the current regime to the past administration, noted the milestones covered on the basis of food aid, stating that the country has witnessed increased food production, hence reducing dependency.
Unlike the previous administration, where Kenyans frequently cried out for food aid, the last two years have witnessed increased food production, reducing dependency and enhancing food security. These are truly transformational developments,” Naymita said.
Ruto remarks
Worth noting, Uriri’s MP’s remarks sparked just a day after President William Ruto declared that he is the best president Kenya has had so far, adding that he has enough experience, having served in all previous regimes Kenya has had since independence.
Speaking at State House, Nairobi, on Monday, August 4, 2025, during a meeting with leaders from Tharaka Nithi County, the President said his unique blend of experience leaves him with “no excuse but to deliver” for the people of Kenya.
“I’ve served as an MP for 15 years and as Deputy President for 10. I’m not too old; I’m young and capable. Kenya has never had a president who is also a PhD holder, and that’s me,” he said.
