Moses Kuria slams Gachagua for associating his CCK party with Ruto

President William Ruto’s Senior Economic Adviser, Moses Kuria, has slammed former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for claiming that Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) was affiliated with President William Ruto.
Speaking in Kangema, Murang’a County, on Saturday, May 17, 2025, the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) claimed that Moses Kuria’s CCK party was owned by Ruto.
“Na Kasongo amepanga kuanzisha chama mingi; Ile ya Kuria ni chama ya Kasongo, ile ya Kiunjuri ni chama ya Kasongo, na ile ya Kabogo ni chama ya Kasongo. Iko ingine mbili anapanga kuandikisha hapa Murang’a (Kasongo has planned to launch many parties: Moses Kuria’s party is his, that of Kiunjuri is also his, and that of William Kabogo. He is further planning to start two new parties here in Murang’a),” Gachagua stated.
Rattled by Gachagua’s sentiments, Kuria came out to slam the DCP party leader, insisting that his sentiments were meant to wreck other outfits in the Mt Kenya region.
In a statement, Moses Kuria informed Gachagua that his CCK party has a national outfit with elected members from different counties, having been established in August 2021.
“Dear my friend Riggy G. I formed Chama Cha Kazi in August 2021. We have elected MCAs in several counties, including Nairobi, Kiambu, Nyandarua, and Embu,” Kuria’s statement read in part.

Dismissed his advice
While hitting back at the former DP, Moses Kuria recalled warning Gachagua against going into a working relationship with Ruto without a party.
However, Kuria indicated that Gachagua ignored him and went ahead to decampaign CCK candidates.

“In 2022, I tried to plead with you we go to William Ruto with our parties just like Musalia, Wetangula, Mutua, and Kingi. You refused and on live TV you called my party a briefcase party. You said we should trust William Ruto unconditionally. When I refused you decampaigned me and other CCK candidates,” Kuria wrote on X.
Do not start a war
Moses Kuria went on to claim that Gachagua realised he fell in love with Ruto blindly following their fallout and now was keen to salvage the situation by popularising his newly launched outfit.
However, he warned him against wrecking other parties in the process. He thus cautioned him against starting a political war while comparing his experience to Kimani Ichung’wah’s.
“When you fell out with William Ruto, you realised it was wrong to go to elections without our own party. You misled our region. Today you have said CCK is a Kasongo party. You are misleading our people yet again to vandalise parties we have nurtured for 4 years when you were blindly in love with William Ruto. I will not take it lying down. Do not start a war you can not win. Focus on your political age mates like Kimani Ichungwa. I am your political senior, my friend. Respect your elders.”
