Chief Justice (CJ) David Maraga on Wednesday confirmed that Supreme Court judge Smokin Wanjala contracted swine flu in India.
The Supreme Court judge contracted the disease while attending a judicial conference in the Asian county, CJ Maraga revealed.
“Hon. Justice Smokin Wanjala, who is in India for a Judicial Conference, is hospitalised and is undergoing treatment for the H1N1-Swine flu which also affected 6 Indian Supreme Court Judges,” said CJ Maraga.
The Chief Justice said Justice Wanjala may be discharged from the hospital on Wednesday, February 26.
The symptoms of swine flu, also called H1N1, include fever and chills, similar to those of the new coronavirus.
