Former Kenya Ports Authority managing director, Daniel Manduku, and accountant Juma Fadhil have been charged afresh over abuse of office charges for allegedly misappropriating Sh928 million.
The duo allegedly misappropriated the funds meant for repairs and maintenance in the 2018/19 financial year budget.
The prosecution told the court that they committed the alleged crime on March 29, 2019, and August 22, the same year in Mombasa County.
Fadhili also faced another count of unlawfully preparing work evaluation certificate that was erroneous.
The court was informed that the certificates were presented to the KPA finance department by contractors leading to an overpayment of Sh244 million.
Further, the duo was charged with engaging in a project without clear planning contrary to the law for the manufacture of concrete barriers for a contracted sum of Sh1.4 billion.
The prosecutor said that the Sh1.4 billion project had no approved budget or procurement.
Anti-corruption Magistrate Lawrence Mungambi said the two will remain on previous bond terms of Sh12 million after they pleaded not guilty to new charges.
The pretrial of the case will be heard on the first week of December.
