Man dies mysteriously at his gate in Kiambu

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kiamumbi, Kiambu County have launched probe into the circumstances surrounding the death of a 50-year-old man in Mugumo estate.

Speaking to the KNA in his office on Thursday, Kiambu DCIO Haddick Jumba said that the incident was reported at around 3.00 am by a Mary Moii Njeri, the wife of the deceased.

“Our police on duty received a call last night from a lady informing them that her husband one John Njenga Karanga had collapsed and died at their home’s main gate,” said Jumba.

According to the police report, the wife was sleeping when she had the husband trying to open their main gate at around 2:40 am, but after waiting for around 20 minutes she decided to go and check, she however reported having found her husband lying on the ground and unconscious.

The police who rushed to the scene found the body of the deceased lying on the ground at the gate, the deceased was holding a torch, mobile phone and the keys to his main gate.

Police say the body had no visible injuries and has since been moved to the Kenyatta University Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
